SSC CGL Notification 2022

 The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) conducts the SSC CGL Exam for the recruitment of Grade “B” and “C” category posts in various Government Ministries, Departments and Offices. The SSC CGL exam is held in 4 stages called Tiers. While the first two are online the latter two are offline exams. SSC CGL Exam 2022

Before appearing in the exam it is recommended to understand the SSC CGL exam pattern & syllabus. SSC CGL Exam Patterns for the year 2022 Tier I & II are given below:

  1. SSC CGL 2022 Tier I & Tier II exam will be held online.
  2. The time limit for the Tier -I exam is 60 minutes.
  3. A descriptive paper of 100 marks will be given with a time limit of 60 minutes in pen & paper mode.

Exam Pattern of SSC CGL Tier I 2022

Tier I of SSC CGL Exam is an objective exam which will be held online. In Tier I exam there will be 100 Questions in the 4 sections of SSC CGL-2022. Each question in the exam will carry 2 marks which make a total of 200 marks. The subject-wise segmentation of marks is given below:

Points to remember:

  1. There will be negative marking in SSC CGL-2022 Tier I Exam. Each wrong answer to a question will deduct 1/4th of the marks from the total of all sections.
  2. The exam duration for visually handicapped candidates is 80 minutes.

  • The time duration of the exam for visually handicapped applicants is 2 hrs. 40 minutes.
  • There will be negative marking in Tier-II of 1/4th for each incorrect answer in every section.
  • In Tier-II, Paper-I & II are compulsory for all the posts.

Exam Pattern of SSC CGL 2022 Tier III

This will be a descriptive type of exam to test the writing skills of the applicants in English or Hindi. It’s an offline mode of exam. The aspirants are required to write an application/essay/letter.

One needs to read a lot of articles from different newspapers & magazines to prepare for this section. Besides this, you are required to be well-versed with the updated pattern of letters & applications.

SSC CGL 2022- Tier IV

Tier-4 of SSC CGL Exam 2022 will be having several skill tests that are important for certain govt. posts. The tests are as follows:

  1. Data Entry Speed Test (DEST): the test is held to test the typing speed of the aspirants. In this test, all the aspirants are given printed material in English which they should type correctly on a computer with minimum 2000 words. The time duration of the test will be 15 minutes.

2. Computer Proficiency Test (CPT):  SSC hold this test in three modules –

  • Word Processing,
  • Spreadsheet, and
  • Generation of Slides

CPT is a test for the posts of Assistant Section Officer in MEA, CSS, & AFHQ, Assistant in Serious Fraud Investigation Office (SFIO) under the Ministry of Corporate Affairs, Inspector (Central Excise), Assistant (GSI) in the Ministry of Mines, Inspector (Preventive Officer), and Inspector (Examiner) in CBIC.
3. Document Verification: The final selection step would be document verification.
