The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has released the official notification for the Combined Higher Secondary (10+2) Level Examination, 2026. Eligible Ex-Servicemen can claim age relaxation according to the conditions prescribed by SSC. A matriculate Ex-Serviceman who has completed at least 15 years of service in the Armed Forces as on the closing date may be considered eligible for appointment against Group C posts reserved for Ex-Servicemen, subject to the conditions specified in the notification.
Age relaxation available to Ex-Servicemen is not available to their sons, daughters or dependants merely on the basis of being related to an Ex-Serviceman.

The fee must be paid online through the available online payment modes. Candidates who are not exempted from the fee must ensure that SSC has received their payment. Applications remaining incomplete because of non-receipt of the fee will be rejected.
The application fee once paid will not be refunded or adjusted against another examination or selection.
SSC will provide a three-day correction window from 14 October to 16 October 2026. Eligible candidates can correct and re-submit their application a maximum of two times during this period.

Correction charges apply to all candidates irrespective of gender or category. After successful payment, the latest corrected application will be considered valid and the previous application will be cancelled.
Candidates who have not generated One-Time Registration on the new SSC website must complete OTR before applying. OTR generated on the old SSC website will not work on the new website. Once generated on the new website, the OTR can be used for examinations available through the new SSC portal.
SSC advises candidates to opt for Aadhaar-based authentication while completing the OTR process. Candidates should follow the Aadhaar policy and instructions published by SSC while registering and submitting their application.
Candidates are not required to keep a pre-existing photograph ready because the application module captures a live photograph. While taking the photograph, candidates should use a place with good lighting and a plain background, keep the camera at eye level, look directly into the camera and ensure that the complete face is properly positioned in the prescribed area.
Candidates must select examination centres in the online application according to SSC's prescribed centre-selection procedure. SSC will try to accommodate candidates at the selected centres, but it reserves the right to add, cancel or change examination centres and divert candidates to another centre where required.

If a candidate cannot substantiate a claim relating to educational qualification, caste, category, age relaxation or another eligibility condition through valid documents, the candidature may be cancelled.
Candidates will be shortlisted for Tier-II based on their performance in Tier-I. Normalized scores will be used where applicable.
All candidates shortlisted for Tier-II must appear in all four sections and qualify the sections prescribed by SSC.
