SSC Tier-I (Preliminary Exam): This initial stage is conducted online and encompasses multiple-choice questions (MCQs). The test evaluates candidates in four areas: General Intelligence Reasoning, General Awareness, Quantitative Aptitude, and English Comprehension.
SSC Tier-II (Main Exam): Successful completion of Tier-I renders candidates eligible for Tier-II. Similarly conducted online, this phase consists of four papers. The first two papers - Quantitative Abilities and English Language & Comprehension - are obligatory for all participants. The remaining two papers - Statistics and General Studies (Finance and Economics) - pertain only to select positions.
Tier-III (Descriptive Paper): In this pen-and-paper examination format, applicants are tasked with composing essays, précis writing exercises, letters, and applications. Its primary objective is to evaluate the candidate's proficiency in written communication skills, either in English or Hindi.
Tier-IV (Skill Test/Computer Proficiency Test): The final tier comprises a skill test or computer proficiency assessment tailored to the specific requirements of the job position under consideration. Individuals may be required to undertake a data entry speed examination for certain roles as part of this phase.
