What is SSC-CGL?

(Staff Selection Commission) of India announces several posts in the central government for which it conducts and examination termed as Combined Graduate Level (CGL) exam.

SSC CGL Selection Procedure 2024

SSc CGL 2024 Examination will be conducted in four tiers-

1) Tier-1: Computer based Examination

2) Tier-2: Computer based Examination

* All candidates who have applied successfully for SSC CGL 2024 exam, will be assigned Roll numbes and Admit card for appearing in the computer based examination (Tier-2).

* Based on the marks scored in Tier-1, candidates will be shortlisted, category wise, to appear in Tier-1 and Tier-2 Examinations.

* Separate cut offs will be fixed for paper 2 of Tier 1 (i.e forr the post of junior Statistical Officer(jso), Paper-iv of Tier 2(i.e. for the posts of Assistant Audit Officer and Assistant Accounts Officer) and for Paper-ii of Tier-ii(i.e. for all other posts.)

*Tier-II xaminations will be conducted for all the candidates qualified in Tier-I.

  • In Tier-II, all the candidates will be required to appear in Paper-I and Paper-II. However, only specific candidates shortlisted for the posts of Junior Statistical Officer (JSO) and Assistant Audit Officer/ Assistant Accounts Officer will be required to appear in Paper-III and Paper-IV respectively.

SSC CGL Selection Process

SSC CGL 2024 Examination will be conducted in four tiers as indicated below:

1. Tier-I: Computer Based Examination

SSC has introduced minimum qualifying marks in SSC CGL 2024 Exam. Minimum qualifying marks in Tier-I, each Paper of Tier-II and Tier-III Examination are as follows:

The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has revised the Combined Graduate Level (CGL) Exam pattern along with SSC CGL Notification 2024. The Examination will be conducted in 2 tiers as indicated below:

Tier-1 Exam Pattern:

  • An exam is objective type and will be conducted online.
  • The question paper will be divided into 4 sections: 
  • (1) General Intelligence & Reasoning
  • (2) General Awareness / General knowledge, 
  • (3) Quantitative Aptitude and 
  • (4) English Comprehension.
  • There are 100 questions for 200 marks and the exam duration will be  60 minutes.
  • There will be negative marking of 0.50 marks for each wrong answer.

Tier-2 Exam Pattern:

  • The exam is objective type and will be conducted online.
  • There are 3 papers,
